Chief Joseph Hatchery Roof Recover Project

Spokane Roofing Company®, LLC recently completed a commercial roof recover project at the Chief Joseph Hatchery (CJH) in Bridgeport, Washington. The project comprised removing existing TPO membrane roofing from three buildings, installing recovery board, and finishing with new single-ply, TPO membrane roofs. The project scope of work shifted to recover from replacement, after a thorough inspection revealed the existing roof insulation was mostly intact. The resulting commercial roof recover project was a well-organized success from beginning through final inspection.

Chief Joseph Hatchery Background

The Chief Joseph Hatchery opened in May 2013. ‘The hatchery produces up to 2.9 million chinook fry annually. The returning adult salmon provide for tribal ceremonies, food for tribal members, and recreational fishing opportunities for all.’

The 10-year-old building roofs began leaking water around light fixtures on the interior. A subsequent inspection found water intrusion and rusty screws beneath the membrane.

Chief Joseph Hatchery Recover Project Major Materials List

The four-week commercial roof recover project used the following major materials:

  • Holcim Elevate 60 mil UltraPly™ TPO Single-Ply Membranes, White
  • Holcim Elevate .5-inch ISOGARD™ Polyiso Insulation.
